I have lived in Naples and Collier County since I was six years old. Not only have I witnessed the amazing growth from Marco Island to Lee County, I have participated in it, forging strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. The construction industry in southwest Florida has been tops in the nation for the past couple of decades.
After earning a B. S. degree in Building Science from Auburn University’s School of Architecture, I gained valuable experience from internships with construction and development companies throughout the southeastern U.S.—and from the few years I spent in California to diversify my experience and discover different ways to develop projects from conception to completion. Missing sunny Florida moved family back to “paradise” so they could enjoy the same environment that I had growing up. Once back in Naples, I earned a Florida class “A” General Contractor’s license that permits me to build just about anything, anywhere in the state.
Land planning, design/build, major construction—I have been a team player in all aspects of the industry. In California, my experiences included design, estimating, permitting and construction of two office parks in the Silicon Valley. While serving as project manager for Equity One I managed the Oracle Campus special projects. Right here in Naples I have served as a private consultant protecting owners’ interests through the construction process, and I’ve functioned as project engineer on a 21-story high-rise in prestigious Pelican Bay. Every team I’ve worked with has taught me, and has learned something from me as well. Now as the president of JAH Construction Management, I look forward to assisting you with any of your construction or development needs.
Operating as or managing a subcontractor, skilled labor & quality materials are a key to success. Having the right supervision running a skilled crew, creating the right team, will make things happen in the field. Schedule in the right materials and watch the team run with the job.
For my general contracting services, I prefer to work based on cost-plus with a guaranteed maximum price. I feel this method serves three purposes: to give my clients the greatest value, to develop the best working relationship throughout the duration of the project and to promote communication among all parties involved.
As a consultant working by the hour, I look forward to the development of large buildings or entire neighborhoods. I would function as an owner’s representative to shepherd a project from conception all the way to the finished product, when I will work with interior designers and landscape architects to deliver a product even more beautiful than the original dream.
